Nights of Dance starts tomorrow! Tickets are available in the office; $10 for adults and $5 for students. All 3 nights will sell out so get your tickets early!

The Spectrum Community School Bands present their Year End Concert on tonight at the Dave Dunnet Community Theatre (in Oak Bay High School) The program is diverse and features selections chosen by students in the school’s Junior and Senior Concert Bands, and Junior and Senior Jazz Bands. Admission is by donation and Spectrum students are FREE. We hope to see you there!

Clothing orders are here!  They can be picked at Lunch from 11:50-12:15 and then again after school in the Mall Store!  If you are wanting one of the grad tank tops – we have 3 extra’s in stock.  We also brought in a few regular Spectrum light grey hoodies – if you would like one – stop by the mall store!

Grads – tickets for the Dinner/Dance and Dry Grad are on sale now in the office and will continue until June 9th.  This Friday is the absolute deadline for ticket payment and forms to be turned in!!

Spectrum’s Got Talent:  Finals are this Tuesday at lunch featuring Theta One, Kobe & Harry, Daniel & Tavish, Hanna P, and 3-0-5.  Come on out to support your fellow students and vote for your favourite act.

Performing Arts Students:  Alumni from the Canadian College of Performing Arts will be coming this Friday (June 9) during period 2 with a presentation featuring selections from their current production of the musical Avenue Q.  Afterwards, students will have a chance to learn more about the college as well as careers in the performing arts.  One of the CCPA alumni participating is Spectrum 1998 grad Ryan Reid Nelson who now makes his living on stage and in the film & tv industry.  Contact Mr. Barss or check with your period 2 teacher if you’re interested in attending.

All students interested in participating with the Big Brothers and Big Sisters, please have your completed application forms into Mrs. Warrender or the office today.

Grads – are you interested in working for the Federal Government? If you are planning on going on to post-secondary training this fall, there is an opportunity for you to work full or part time in the Federal Student Work Experience Program.  Talk to Mrs. Johnson in the CRC for more information on this great opportunity.

Congratulations to Quinn Deo, Stuart Jenks, Varun Punwani and Tony Bellerreza for a great weekend of competition at the Track and Field Provincial Championships!

Congratulations to the Spectrum’s Girls Rugby team who finished fourth in the Silver Cup final. Thank you to all students and teachers who came out to watch the girls in our home tournament. A great season and we look forward to next year.
