Today we are recognizing Orange Shirt Day by wearing orange and taking time to think about the 150,000 Aboriginal children who attended residential schools, and the ways that this has affected Aboriginal people, families, communities and Canada as a country. Aboriginal communities are doing a lot of work to recover from the effects of residential schools, but the healing will not be complete without the participation of all Canadians. We are inviting everyone to come show their support today at lunch by signing a banner, getting your hand stamped or your face painted with an orange heart, and today we are starting “Language for Lollipops” – learn two First Nations words and get a lollipop for being brave and taking action.  See you in the foyer at lunch!

There are many of you that would still like to sign up for the Bike-a-thon that starts Monday morning. You can still take pledge forms home this weekend and bring them back to Ms. Condie on Monday so that you can ride the bikes for 30 minutes for 3 days. Good luck.

Are you considering a Career with the Military?  The Canadian Army Reserve is having an open house and job fair tomorrow from 10am-4pm.  They are looking for interested students to hire.  Talk to Shauna in the Office for further information.
