Athletic Leadership 9 and 10
Students must apply to be accepted into this course which is designed to allow like-minded students the opportunity to explore interests in a range of athletic pursuits. The course runs together with physical education for a double block of time. Students will be given the opportunity to learn and demonstrate leadership skills in many situations in the school, in our elementary and middle schools and in the community. Students also participate in lifetime activities away from the school setting; such as, sailing, kayaking, disc golf, golfing, rock climbing, skating, ski/snowboarding, beach volleyball, jujitsu etc. All of which will emphasize a cohort dynamic and leadership skills. Students will achieve their CPR A certification, CANSAIL I, and Kayak INT.
Grade 8 students with a strong interest in athletics, who are self-motivated, who would like to develop their leadership skills, and are willing to volunteer their time are invited to apply for Athletic Leadership 9.
There are costs required for the course and our lifetime activities. Opportunities to fund raise are available.

Outdoor Recreation Leadership 11/12
This is a two year program designed to provide opportunities to gain knowledge and skills in outdoor education, community recreation, recreational leadership and management. Students must be strong academically, responsible, reliable, well organized and self-disciplined. Applicants will participate in a fitness evaluation. There are costs associated with the program.

Admission
Entrance will be through an application form and fitness evaluation. Acceptance will be based on evidence of the desire to excel academically, self-reliance, the ability to work independently and successfully completing a physical fitness test.
