Student course change information – September 2024

Student schedules are available via the MyEd Student Portal starting August 28th. Instructions for how to access the student portal can be found here: https://www.sd61.bc.ca/parent-student-resources/student-accounts/student-myed-account/

Alternatively, students can pick up printed copies of student schedules starting August 28th and 29th from 9 am until 3 pm in our main foyer.  Students and families are encouraged to take a picture of students’ schedules in case the paper copy gets lost.

Counselors will be working on making adjustments throughout the week. Please see below for information regarding changes to student schedules.

COURSE CHANGE REQUEST PROCEDURE 

**Students: Please carefully review your schedule to make sure you have all of your required courses. For graduation requirements, please visit: https://spectrum.sd61.bc.ca/student-info/counseling-center/ 

Please note: Counselors will only be accepting Google form course change requests under the following circumstances: 

  1. You are missing a required course (check grad requirements). All students in Grades 11 & 12 would have received a grad status update in Student Connect last June. 
  1. You do not have a full schedule (four courses each semester). Grade 9, 10 and 11 students MUST have four classes each semester within the timetable. 
  1. You are missing a post-secondary program requirement. 
  1. You have a “Support Block” that you need to fill with a class. 
  1. You wish to drop a class **ONLY FOR GRADE 12 STUDENTS WHO HAVE MET ALL OF THEIR GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS, HAVE COMPLETED AND HANDED IN A SIGNED “ASSIGNED TIME” REQUEST FORM AND HAVE HAD A GRADUATION CHECK WITH A COUNSELOR.  

Counselors will not be meeting with students to change electives, switch blocks or change teachers. Most classes are at capacity, and there are no options for movement. Thank you for your understanding.

If any of the above conditions apply to you, please submit a request through our Google Form. Be sure to check your email frequently in the event your counselor has any follow-up questions. If any changes have been made to your schedule, they will be reflected in MyEd, so please be sure to check there rather than submitting another form or reaching out to your counselor. Thank you!
